It has been a month since my last post and I am ashamed! I didn't realize how far behind in my yoga REBOOT journey I actually was! I assumed a week or two, but it's really more like three...whoops. Things have been a bit crazy around here! This post will probably be long and boring, so consider yourself warned!
Today was my second day of the third Yoga with Adriene reboot video. I'm not going to talk about that one until I've completed the week, which will probably not be for a while, since the EMPOWER challenge (more on that below) starts tomorrow and I really want to focus on that.
Anyway, week two was really challenging for me, much more than I thought it would be, to be honest. The first video flowed for me - it made sense and I was able to really follow it with grace and ease, and I [foolishly] assumed that all of the videos would be the same way. I struggled and was unable to find a good flow and even by the end of the week it was still choppy for me. It did take me about three weeks to get through it though, between the long holiday weekend and then being in recovery from the long weekend as well as some other personal things going on. I find myself consistently struggling with any of the Warrior poses. They don't feel the way Adriene describes them feeling and the foundations videos don't seem to help. It frustrates me that such a simple pose should be so difficult for me to master. I am incredibly grateful to have the videos forever, so that I can continue to practice until everything feels perfect for me.
Onto empower...the YWA team released a new month-long video challenge and tomorrow will be the first day! I am like a little kid on Christmas morning! I keep checking the website (www.findwhatfeelsgood.com) and waiting for course materials to pop up! It was quite a bit more of an expense than the reboot course was, but I had to decide quickly since it was only open for a couple of days. I broke down and purchased it, because reboot has been worth every penny! I am incredibly moved and inspired by the overwhelming response it has already generated on the new Kula. Everyone is supportive and helpful and so friendly, I can practically feel the love pouring out of my computer every time I log on!
I am planning on blogging my empower experience, although I have yet to decide how often I will do it! So far the plan is to write when it feels good to write! I will also have a fun-filled post detailing a wonderful Fourth of July weekend coming up soon! Pictures of the drunken debauchery will most certainly be included. My sister and I are attempting some jewelry making, and while we may not be amazing designers, it sure is fun! So I will have a post on that coming as well!
Until next time!
