Since I started doing yoga, I have been following Yoga with Adriene on YouTube. She is awesome! Tons of great free videos, many of them geared towards people like myself, who had never before done yoga. A few days into my YWA adventures, I discovered that she offers a 29 day yoga bootcamp program (all for at-home, which is great since I'm too bashful to go to public classes). I waited about a month to see if it was something I would actually stick to before I purchased it. It took me three days AFTER purchasing to actually start it, because I was so intimidated by thought of doing an actual yoga video that didn't include posing instructions and lots of time to get my posture correct.
Today is my last day of the first video and so far, I am in love! It gets easier everyday to get on the mat and I find myself looking forward to it every morning. Adriene is a wonderful instructor and I don't even need to look at my screen anymore to follow along with the poses! I feel like Adriene is an old friend already, and never have I been more upset that I didn't live in Texas! If I did, I would certainly bypass my shyness and head to one of her classes!
Some days my body struggles more than others, and I know that the next three weeks will be even more of a challenge, but being able to feel the changes in my body and mind makes every minute spent on the mat soooo incredibly worth it!
Also, my parents got me yoga blocks for my birthday this last weekend and I am so thrilled! I have either been skipping the sequences that need them or modifying with my hands or a book, so I can't wait to finally use them!
I am going to post at the end of every week to give a little update on my progress and the latest ReBoot video! If you're interested, check out her website - Yoga With Adriene!
I'm off to find what feels good!
Namaste!
