where does the time go?

I swear I've been meaning to post for weeks and things have just been nuts! Every time I turn around something new comes up and I'm caught up in dealing with it! Buuuut lots of exciting things are happening! The biggest (financially) is that I was finally able to sit down with my dad and make a solid plan for erasing some debt. Moving back in with my parents at almost 25 years old was a difficult decision to make, but ultimately, it has been the right one, for my finances, my health, and my state of mind! Also, when you have parents who are willing to spend their evening helping you unwind yards and yards of tangled and messy yarn, you know you've made the right choice!

Anyway, first order of business, I'm trying to teach myself how to knit! Many people say that it is easier than crocheting, or just as easy, but for me it definitely isn't. My hands just don't seem to work correctly with two needles instead of one hook...I'm two weeks in and all I've managed to make is a little bitty rectangle thing that isn't very pretty...ah well.

So, I also bought the neatest toy I think I've ever had. I don't even know if I really needed it, but it is FANTASTIC. I did a lot of homework and searched around a bit before I made the purchase, but so far I've got to say that this is the best $50 I ever spent:

Since I mainly use center-pull skeins of yarn, it wasn't a 100% necessary purchase, but because my yarn shelf went from being a disorganized, cluttered, yarn ends flying everywhere and cats playing with them mess, to a beautifully organized and neatly stacked work of beauty, it is already worth the money. I've also been able to re-wrap all of my half skeins so that they will stay tangle free until I'm ready to use them again.

Who could say no?? On top of that, winding my yarn into these perfect, tight little cakes is so much fun! I get a kick out of it every single time I use it!

I bought a beautiful new bedroom set and have been meaning to post pictures, but my camera died during my last mini photo shoot and I have been too lazy to take pictures, but maybe in the next couple of days I will feel more motivated! I'm also currently working on a lovely gray and purple granny stripe blanket to match one of my new duvet covers, I will add pictures of my progress in my next post as well!

Until next time, happy crocheting!
